SEEMS WHETHER IN STUDIO, JUNGLE, OR SEA, YOU’RE ALWAYS PRACTICING. HOW DID YOUR JOURNEY WITH YOGA BEGIN?
It’s actually way less exciting than you might think. It was my first year of university and I was totally stressed out. This was my first year probably ever in my life, that I wasn't playing a sport on a competitive level and I started to feel the difference in my body right away. I needed something, so I started going to a little yoga studio in London, Ontario and the rest is history.
YOU EMOTE SUCH STRENGTH THROUGH YOUR PHOTOS, WHAT EMPOWERS YOU?
I do? Haha, that’s cool, I didn’t realize that. I don’t always feel so strong but to be totally predictable, it’s my friends that keep me going. We’re always reassuring each other that we’re the greatest. That helps, haha. My boyfriend has also always supported me in this journey. I don’t know that I’d be teaching right now if it weren’t for him. Starting up something new can be so intimidating. I'm lucky to have such a strong support system. My relationships really are everything.
WHAT’S YOUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS HEALTH AND WELLNESS?
I have a daily practice, which is so important. It’s crucial to give yourself the time to connect movement and breath everyday. I love to break a sweat. Feeling good is 100% the most important thing. I definitely watch what I eat, but anyone will tell you I’m also the first to say yes to dessert.
DESCRIBE A TURNING POINT IN YOUR YOGA PRACTICE.
I had been practicing for a long time, contemplating teacher training for a while, when one day after practice I realized something that is different about yoga, different than any other sport or exercise I’ve even been involved in - I have never gone to a yoga class and not felt better once it was over. Ever. And that was when I decided that I wanted to share yoga with others. That was when I decided I needed to teach.
WHAT DO YOU EAT FOR DINNER ALONE?
Oh man, all the Thai food.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL SPOTS IN T.O.?
I love the vibe of Queen West Argentinian cafe, El Almacen. It’s refreshingly unique.

I always find something special to wear at Smoke and Ash on Queen West.

Have only love in your heart for others. The more you see the good in them, the more you will establish good in yourself -- Paramahansa Yogananda
DESCRIBE A PERSONAL RITUAL.
I try to take an hour-long stroll everyday with someone I love.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR TRIED AND TRUE, FOOLPROOF CLOTHING PIECES?
The oversized white button-down, 100%. It’s dressy, it’s casual, it’s for every season. And my TKEES, duh.
IT’S EASY TO LIVE VICARIOUSLY THROUGH YOUR INSTAGRAM FEED… CAN YOU SHARE SOME RECENT UNDER THE RADAR TRAVEL DISCOVERIES? ARE THERE ANY SECRET SPOTS YOU THINK EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?
Noel Coward’s historic villa, ‘Firefly’. It’s off the beaten path in Oracabessa, Jamaica, but totally worth the bumpy drive to experience it’s breathtaking cliffside view of the surf breaking over the Jamaican coast (and its completely tourist free!)
HOW DO YOU END YOUR DAY?
Red wine and some TV series that’s title is way too embarrassing to share.
